For that last and fatal time 어느 이른 아침이었습니다 


They found his body lying 소리없는 강물이 잔물결짓고 
on the rocky shore below 삼목이 흔들리며 바람소리 내던 
Where the silent water ripple 아래쪽 어느 암석 해안에서 
and the whispering cedars blow 사람들은 그의 시체를 발견했지요 
Now every raft of lumber 지금도 모든 뗏목들이 
That comes down the Chippeway 그 폭포를 내려가고 있어요 
There's a lonely grave 사람들이 차를 몰고 오가는 그 길목에는 
that's visited by drivers on their way 외로운 무덤이 하나 있답니다 
They plant wild flowers upon it 어느 활짝 갠 맑은 아침 날 
in the morning fair and fine 그 무덤에 사람들은 야생화를 심었어요 
It is the grave of two young lovers 그 무덤은 젊은 두 연인들을 위한 것이에요 
from the river in the pines 솔숲 사이의 강 주변에 살던
